LAN's (Local Area Networks)

VPN's also provide a cost effective way to link your network to other branches of your company.

SBS (Small Business Server)

This is a industry standard operating system.

For example you might want an area on the server for all of your departments such as a Management area with restrictive access, an Accounts area or may be a General storage area or Sales area, all of which can be customised to suit your needs. This makes collating and finding data a relatively easy task. It is also possible to set up workgroup templates i.e. Fax Headers, Company Memo headers and Standard company forms for everyone to use on the network. Every user will have a private storage area on the server known as a Home Drive. The Exchange Server (e-mail system) is an Internal e-mail system and external Internet e-mail system with remote mail capabilities for roaming users, i.e. sales staff or home users.

Backup

All data stored on this server will automatically be backed up at night onto a Dat tape, which can then be taken off site as part of a disaster recovery plan. The system will send a message to a desired user or users to acknowledge the backup status.

Smart UPS (Unconditional Power Supply)

In the event of a power cut the UPS will keep the servers running for a designated time and then shut the system down until power is restored. The UPS also filters the power supply for dips and spikes.
